International Programs

The Long-Term Plan for the University of Bucharest emphasizes international co-operation as an essential part of the University’s core activities. International co-operation enables the University to strengthen its position and attract the best researchers and the best students.

The University is a member of international organisations including:

-    Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF)

-    Black Sea Universities Network (BSUN)

-    Academic Cooperation Association (ACA)

-    SEE GRID - South-East Europe GRID - 2005

-    Central European Exchange Program for University Studies (CEEPUS)

Also, the University of Bucharest is collaborating with many organisations in different countries, such as:

-          DAAD

-          IREX – the International Research & Exchanges Board

-          Foundations: HumboldtVolkswagenFulbrightSasakawa.


The most significant aspects of the international co-operation activity are:

-         bilateral inter-university and inter-departmental co-operation in teaching and research,

-          participating in European and international programmes.


Currently, we have concluded scholastic/academic exchange agreements with 145 universities and 50 departments. We are promoting various activities such as exchanges of scientific materials, publications and information, exchanges of faculty members, student mobilities, joint-research programmes and research meetings.


As part of on-going ERASMUS programme, the University of Bucharest has approximately 225 Erasmus agreements with European partner universities, which give students and staff the opportunity to study or train abroad, to teach abroad for certain periods of time, to participate in commun projects of curriculum implementations, in intensive courses or thematic activities regarding the development of a particular field of study.
